Say Hi
i. Breathing Together
ii. Listening Together
iii. Singing Together
One of the most special elements of transnational Chinese culture is the deep sense of community. Food (of course!) plays a big part in this and there is nothing quite like sharing a meal with your friends and family on special occasions with the classic round tables with a huge array of dishes waiting to be devoured.
Say Hi, scored for any four instruments and audience participation, hopes to create this idea of community between performers and audience. The three movements are spread across the programme and each is based on the same short melody as the audience are taught a simple part to sing.
